Ashok Shahi has been running international bars and restaurants in Fukuoka since 1986. His friendly atmosphere is famous with local Japanese as well as international residents and visitors.
His skillful chefs serve a variety of Nepalese, Indian, and Sri Lankan dishes, great curry, naan, as well as burritos and pizza. Diners will appreciate a glass of Ashok's homemade lassi yogurt drink after an authentic, spicy dish.
By all means, try Ashok's momo! Momo (dumplings) is one of Nepal's most popular dishes which can be eaten as an entree or as a main dish. It's a dumpling filled with meat or vegetables, eaten with tomato pickle (golbheda ko achar).
The well-stocked bar offers an array of whiskeys, beers, and cocktails.

I’ve been a guest at Ashok’s international venues since the 1980’s. It’s impossible to imagine Fukuoka’s nightlife and dining scene without mentioning Ashok. He’s given assistance and offered work to newcomers to get them off to a good start, while running some of the friendliest, if not THE FRIENDLIEST bars and restaurants in town. A real “people person,” Ashok speaks Nepali, Hindi, Japanese and English;. and he serves up excellent cuisine at reasonable prices,
